Grandmaster Chen Xiao Wang 13th Annual Seminar June 2009.
I am proud to announce that our school again hosted a series of seminars in June 2009.
With world renown Taiji  Grandmaster, Chen Xiao Wang,

The seminar topics included:

Push Hands (Tui Shou) The fascinating subject of Tui Shuo.

Chan - Si Gong (Silk Reeling Technique) was a must for all serious Taiji practitioners.

Chen Taiji 19 Movement Form. This was a unique opportunity for students to study this form with it’s creator.
The applications of the form left students in no doubt of the Martial content of the form....

Yi Jin Jing (Yin Yang Chi Kung) a firm favourite with many students.

Xinjia Yi - Lu (New Frame) Chen  Fa-Ke (Chen Xiao Wang's grandfather) created the Xinjia, he wanted to enhance the fighting applications and make the form more efficient in practical use. It is a very flowing form with some surprising and inspiring moves in it. It was one not to be missed.

Christmas Celebrations

Our annual Christmas get-together was held a the Chung Ku Chinese restaurant on Saturday 5th December
Once again there was a great turnout. The Chung Ku is a beautiful restaurant overlooking the River Mersey.
It is the perfect venue for an enjoyable evening, the staff are very friendly and they all helped the evening run smoothly.
As ever there was plenty of good food and conversation over the odd glass of wine, of course.

The highlight of the evening was our mystery raffle.
There were seven copies of the new Chen Style dvd’s as prizes.

Master Lau surprised everyone one when he announced the second prize was a copy of Grandmaster Chen’s new book ‘Chen Family Taijiquan’

He then proudly announced the first prize was a very special prize indeed;
A unique calligraphy by Grandmaster Chen himself.

The first name out of the hat was Denise Halsall who won the first of the dvd’s followed by; Tony Clisman, Ken Rutherford, Gail Newbolt, Jo Smith and Nico Arvantis,         Click here for the meal photos

Win Cox won the last of the dvd’s and had the honour of drawing the very special second prize Grandmaster Chen’s book,
which was won by one of our Welsh students from Trelawynd, a very happy Huw Bevan.

Huw then had the privilege to draw the winner of the calligraphy.
There was great anticipation and crossing of fingers, when he drew the winning name.
The very lucky winner was one of our new students from Holly Lodge in Liverpool, a shocked Christina Barrett Yuen.
Who to quote said, ‘I have never won anything in my life’ Well done to Christina, Huw and all the lucky winners.

Such was the interest in the prizes a number of students ordered copies of the dvd’s and Grandmaster Chen’s new book,
for Christmas presents.

Special thanks go to Master Lau for organising such a pleasant and enjoyable evening, see you next time....
