GRANDMASTER CHEN XIAO WANG SEMINAR TOPICS 2010
Venue: Garston Leisure Centre, Long Lane, Garston, Liverpool L19 6PE (near Speke Airport)

Yi Jin Jing  易筋經 (Yin Yang Chi - Kung / Qi - Gong)
Open to all beginners, intermediate and advance students

Legend has it that when the monk Bodhidarma (known as Da-Mo; founder of Zen in China) over 1400 years ago arrived at the famous Shaolin temple, he saw the monks residing there were in poor condition.
During his 9 years of meditation in a cave near the temple he pondered on the problem and wrote the famous Chi-Kung book called Yi Jin Jing (muscle/tendon development) and this became the foundation of the famous Shaolin martial arts. Yin Yang Chi-Kung bears an uncanny resemblance to the Yi Jin Jing Chi-Kung.
We can only speculate that the Yin Yang Chi-Kung is a later adoption of the 1400 years old Yi Jin Jing. It has reputation to strengthen the muscles and tendons through the circulation of Chi, stretching and loosening of joints and also energising your body and mind increasing your internal strength.

Chan Si Gong 纒絲功 (Silk Reeling Energy Exercise) and Standing Posture Meditation 站庒
Open to all beginners , intermediate and advance students

The goal for standing posture is to help practitioners to learn and understand how to apply correct posture in a standstill position. Once correct posture is attained, the vital energy “CHI” will flow to and release from the dantien more freely.
(The dantien is the acupuncture point below the navel)
Silk reeling exercise is considered to be the alphabet of Tai Chi. It is designed and practised by applying basic principles to basic movements. By using the “YI” (mind) and movements, we learn how to control, circulate the “CHI” to and from the dantien thus raise one’s own standard and the understanding of Tai Chi Chuan.
